Four ways to boost your professional development as a Celebrant

By Natasha Johnson

March 20, 2018

celebrant business, celebrant training, ongoing celebrant development, professional celebrant development

I don’t know who said this quote, but I do know that I love it.

A true sign of success is the honest recognition that there is always room for improvement.

It’s great, isn’t it?

No matter how we arrived at being Celebrants – one thing is absolutely clear, the journey is a continual one where we learn, develop and improve ourselves along the way, in order to achieve the levels of success that we’re hoping for.

It isn’t enough to become a Celebrant by taking out all of the benefits that we get from it, without reinvesting and putting back in.

Professional career development, in its various forms, is what any passionate professional undertakes with the purpose of refreshing their skills, keeping up-to-date with their knowledge and maintaining high standards of care and attention within their field of expertise.

And as Celebrants, we aren’t exempt from this. Professional career development is something we should prioritize, to make sure we are also at the top of our game and doing all that we can to stay there.

Having just run a successful workshop ourselves, we saw first hand the desire, commitment and passion of Celebrants to want to learn more in order to be the best Celebrants that they can be. You can read about our workshop here.

It’s our duty to ourselves and our clients, our couples and families, that we do our best in order to be our best self, best Celebrant and best business owner.

In episode 3, of the Celebrant Survival Podcast, I talk about about this very topic of professional career development for Celebrants.

I look at the different ways that we can get onboard with ongoing career development, from informal routes to more formalised training and the benefits of them all. And also why it’s so important to undergo some level of professional career development, however you choose to do it.

Once you’ve had a listen do feel free to leave a comment below and to let us know your take on professional development. What do you do to make improvements?
