With the Celebrant profession being a highly sought-after career choice and a steadily growing industry, Celebrants now have to work harder to stand out from the crowds.
What do we do when couples and families have so many Celebrants to choose from and we all seem to be offering the same thing? No, we don’t stick our heads in the sand and moan about the situation we find ourselves in. We rise up, and look at ways to make a change.
Nowadays, it’s simply not enough to create a nice looking website, cross your fingers for luck and wait with baited breath as your clients come knocking at your door. And this does not just apply to Celebrants, this is something which is relevant to all industries and all professions. However, because the nature of Celebrancy calls on us to lead with our hearts and emotions more than other professions, so do the ways that we market ourselves and what we do.
Marketing has changed so much in recent years. Of course potential clients want to know what we do and how we do it, but now more than anything they also want to know WHO we are. How can we claim to create fun, unique, personal experiences, if your website does not show that you are a fun, unique personable person?
With this worldwide growth in Celebrancy, we need to take onboard new techniques to make ourselves stand out from the crowds. We need to look at how we are marketing ourselves and whether what we’re doing is simply allowing ourselves to blend into the background or, – what we should be doing – making ourselves stand out from the crowds.
In our second podcast episode I look at;
- Why it is essential to market yourself as your ‘authentic self.’
- How to get couples to book you for ‘you’ and not just because they need/want a Celebrant.
- How to implement personality-led changes to your marketing.
- Real examples of fabulous Celebrants from around the world, who use their websites and marketing authentically.
Marketing yourself authentically as a Celebrant is one of the best and more productive things that you can do for your Celebrant business. So take a listen to this episode for top advice of how to go about doing that. And once you’ve had a listen, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
And by the way, we’re now on iTunes and Stitcher, so you can listen from your iphone and android devices, on the go, wherever you are!
